Create out Loud #3 Nadine Roestenburg

Create out Loud #3 Nadine Roestenburg

curator of Materialising the Internet & author of Van meme tot mainstream

Nadine Roestenburg is a child of the digital revolution and she is fully aware of it. She even wrote a book about it: ‘Van meme tot mainstream: internetkunst, esthetiek en offline luxe in een postdigitale wereld’ that we will proudly launch this evening, here at MU. In a very personal and relatable style she describes why she is so fascinated – and irritated – by the digital world of the year 2017. What does reality look like, now that the internet is everywhere? And how does that affect our imagination? In order to answer these questions and more, she introduces the reader to a large number of artists and designers who found unconventional ways to unravel the virtual and the real, to break them down, connect and interpret them. And the best part: Create Out Loud takes place among the works of many of the artists in the book, because they also participate in the MU exhibition ‘Materialising the Internet’ that Nadine Roestenburg co-curated with MU director Angelique Spaninks. To be short: an evening full of bits, bytes & memes surrounded by the tangible, inexhaustible and sometimes hilarious internet.

Create Out Loud will be presented by Isolde Hallensleben and recorded on audio only.
