There’s Airbnb to arrange a city trip, Uber to hail a cab and Just Eat to have a special meal delivered at your doorstep. Digital platforms have made life easier for us, cheaper, faster, more efficient: a telephone is all you need and any risks are reduced by reviews and ratings. More efficiency, however, is not necessarily better. The suitcase wheels rattle the neighbours, Uber drivers are notoriously underpaid and restaurants owners are left empty-handed. During the #FHDEBAT we will discuss the dark side of the platform economy. Together with experts and critics we weigh up the pros and cons and debate the question whether things should change – or not.
