When texts and images are shared, memes go viral. How can journalism respond to this simple law of likeability? Create your own eight-second video meme and find out. In this workshop we will zoom in on how news is represented through the versatile medium of moving images. Starting from a selected news topic you are going to examine the extensive use of video (viral gifs, animation, audio, YouTube recordings) on various platforms. The experimental results will be combined into a collective playlist that runs on screen.
