Day 1 Miraculous Futures Workshop

Day 1 Miraculous Futures Workshop

A two-day workshop in collaboration with NFF to re-think and understand the present gaps in society and create radical ideas about possible futures.

Speculative storytelling offers us a tool to re-think the gaps we experience in our society today, to better understand the present and to create radical ideas about possible futures. The results of this two day workshop will consist of multiple stories that will be the start of a future thinking archive. The first day of the workshop will trigger to create radical future ideas and is hosted by MU in Eindhoven. The second day, hosted at Winkel van Sinkel in Utrecht, will be focussed on discussing and shaping these ideas and transform them into a story. You’ll learn to world build and construct a story with the help of specially designed cards.

This workshop is developed and guided by Ashley Baccus Clark (Hyphen Labs) and Klasien van de Zandschulp in close collaboration with MU artspace and Nederlands Filmfestival.

Ashley Baccus Clark is a Molecular and Cellular Biologist and multidisciplinary artist who uses new media and storytelling to explore themes of deep learning, cognition, memory, trauma, and systems of belief. Klasien van de Zandschulp designs story-based and participatory experiences, blending digital/physical and online/offline interactions. Her work explores embodiment, sensory design, rituals, human interaction and radical thoughts around our daily consumption of technology.
