DDW21 | The Greater Number Sessions #1: 1968 Revisited

DDW21 | The Greater Number Sessions #1: 1968 Revisited

17.00-18.00 @ MU

Would you like to dive deeper into the DDW21 theme The Greater Number? Then join us for The Greater Number Sessions at MU: in-depth talks with surprising line-up of speakers, organized by DDW. Each session is dedicated to a different DDW21 sub-theme.

In the first session, #1: 1968 Revisited, we'll take a look at the origin of the concept The Greater Number and how this theme was translated in the Milan Design Triennale in 1968, curated by Giancarlo De Carlo.

How was the theme received at that time and what was the focus? How did it develop over the decades and what's today's interpretation? And in which ways can we translate the ideas of the past into today's biennale presentation? DDW Head of Program Jorn Konijn will engage in conversation with Paola Niccolin: Head of Publications and Education at Palazzo Grassi Venice. For her doctorate in Theory and History of Art, she wrote the dissertation 'T68. The world in a show: Art, Architecture and Environment at 14th Triennale in Milan'.

Where: MU Hybrid Art House | When: Saturday 16 October | Time: 17.00 - 18.00 | Language: English | Entrance: free | No need for a DDW ticket
