Eindhoven Festival

Eindhoven Festival

Online from 18 till 31 December

Save the date! Despite the pandemic, the culture sector in Eindhoven is certainly not standing still. To support the makers in the city and to let the residents of Eindhoven discover what we have in store for them, the cultural institutions organize the online Eindhoven Festival during the Christmas holidays.

Tune in for your much-needed cultural dopamine shot with theater shows, performances, dance, music, quizzes, workshops, seminars, a sneak peek behind the museums’ doors and online encounters with artists. Visit eindhovenfestival.nl from 18 till 31 December where 70 acts are on the program (5 a day). You can buy a ticket for the entire festival for 5,- euros: besides, one free program is offered daily. Find MU in this festival line-up on the following days:

Tuesday 22 December | 13.00 – 13.30 | Workshop ‘Patronen Klonen’ | via Zoom | audience: 10 – 12 years
Learn to think like a computer and create your own data portrait, based on the work of the artist Dries Depoorter. The workshop will be in Dutch.

Thusday 24 December | 11.00 | Group performance Pan~ // Catwalk by Zwermers | pre-recorded
From worn-down jeans jacket to extravagant glitter dress: our attire is an expression of who we are, want to be, and sometimes have to be. What does that second skin convey about us? Do people wear clothes or are people being worn by their clothes? A multi-coloured performance by Zwermers about identity and diversity.

Saturday 26 December | 13.00 | Workshop Her Story | pre-recorded
Dive into the world of tech, programming and internet her-stories with MU Play & Learn. Based on the Computer Grrrrls exhibition, artist and musician Claire L. Evans created the video series ‘Her-Story’. What role have women played in technological developments and programming? And how can artists contribute to a more diverse and inclusive (digital) world view? Use the three assignments at the end of the video (in Dutch) and get started.

Wednesday 30 December | 19.00 | Makers of MU | pre-recorded
Meet some of the young artists who show their works in the gigantic ‘shop window’ between the Ketelhuisplein and the Torenallee at Strijp-S. Expect interviews with talented designers and artists, poets & writers who reflect on artworks from The Self Design Academy and a sneak peek at MU’s current exhibition Evolutionaries.
