MU invites Ernst Reijseger inside the heart of TRANSMISSION
What happens when science meets art and ecology meets music?
On Thursday, September 12, Ernst Reijseger will perform live within the TRANSMISSION exhibition at MU.
TRANSMISSION by Amsterdam-based collective Touki Delphine visualizes the mycelium network—the hidden web of fungi that connects almost all plants and trees on Earth. With buzzing brake lines, hissing hoses and glowing reflectors from the junkyard, Touki Delphine created a poetic imagination of the most complex system on Earth.
Much like this mysterious network, cellist and composer Ernst Reijseger is passionate about making connections. From working together with filmmakers like Werner Herzog to his many collaborations with musicians, poets and painters have earned him a reputation as a true genre bender. MU and Touki Delphine invited Reijseger to perform inside the heart of TRANSMISSION.
The night will continue with a talk by ecologist and evolutionary biologist Justin Stewart, alongside artists Chris Doyle and Bo Koek from Touki Delphine. Stewart maps the mycelial networks in the Earth’s soils and will share their insights into the symbiotic relationships between plants and their microbiomes. They have a strong commitment to communicating the wonders of ecology across disciplines, often collaborating with local artists.
The talk will be held in English. There are only limited seats available, reserve your tickets here.
